Legal Policy / Terms & Conditions for
Slough Driving School Ltd

1. Introduction & Definitions

  1. These terms and conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our website at https://www.sloughdrivingschool.co.uk/and/or https://www.sloughdrivingschool.com/ (the “Site”) and the provision of driving-lesson services by Slough Driving School (the “School”, “we”, “us”, “our”).
  2. By accessing or using the Site, or by booking or taking driving lessons with us, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you should not use our Site or engage our services.
  3. In these Terms:
    • “Pupil”, “you”, “your” refers to the individual booking or receiving driving instruction.
    • “Instructor” refers to the qualified driving instructor assigned by the School.
    • “Lessons” means driving instruction sessions provided by the School.
    • “Services” means the supply of driving lessons, any booking services, and related communications.

2. Use of Website

  • The content on the Site is for general information only. We do not warrant that content is complete, accurate, or up-to-date.
  • The Site and its content are our intellectual property (or licensed to us). You may view or print pages for personal, non-commercial use only. Any other use (copying, reproducing, distributing, commercial dissemination) is prohibited without our express written consent.
  • You must not misuse the Site (e.g. attempt to gain unauthorised access, introduce malware, disrupt functionality).
  • We do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the Site — we are not liable for temporary unavailability or technical issues beyond our control.
  • This part of the Terms is governed by the laws of England and Wales and any dispute relating to website use shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

3. Booking and Provision of Driving Lessons

3.1 Eligibility & Licence Requirements

  • To take lessons you must hold a valid UK driving licence (provisional or full) that entitles you to drive the relevant class of vehicle. You must produce or provide proof of licence before or on your first lesson.
  • You must be medically fit to drive (including meeting eyesight requirements). If you wear glasses/contact lenses to meet eyesight requirements, you must wear them during every lesson.

3.2 Booking, Payment & Fees

  • Lesson bookings must be made in advance, and payment should be made as agreed before the time of booking. In the case of block bookings, fees may be collected upfront and lessons deducted as used.
  • The School reserves the right to refuse, cancel or reschedule lessons (for example, if licence proof is not provided, or due to instructor unavailability).
  • Any special offers, discounts or package deals are subject to the terms communicated at the time of purchase. The School reserves the right to remove or amend offers at any time (but will honour confirmed bookings).

3.3 Pupil Obligations & Conduct

  • You must behave responsibly, safely and follow instructions during lessons. You must not drive under influence of alcohol, drugs (incl. certain over-the-counter or prescription meds that impair ability), or when unfit to drive.
  • Wear suitable clothing and footwear that allows safe operation of vehicle controls.
  • Inform the School / Instructor promptly of any medical conditions, disabilities or changes to licence status (endorsements, bans, restrictions) that might affect ability to learn.

4. Cancellation, Rescheduling & Refunds

  • If you wish to cancel or reschedule a booked lesson, you must give us 48 hours notice. If notice is not provided within this period, full charge may apply.
  • If lessons are booked in blocks or advance packages and you cancel before using them, unused lessons may be refunded or credited at our discretion — subject to any offer/discount conditions.
  • The School reserves the right to cancel or reschedule lessons at anytime (for example due to instructor unavailability); in such case you will be offered an alternative or a refund for cancelled lessons.

5. Liability & Disclaimers

  • While we take all reasonable care to ensure safe and proper instruction and maintain properly insured, roadworthy vehicles, if you fail to comply with licence, fitness, safety or conduct requirements, we accept no liability for any consequential damage or loss.
  • Use of the Site is at your own risk. We disclaim all warranties — including on content accuracy, availability, suitability, or fitness for purpose of our website content.
  • Where applicable, our liability to you for any claim arising out of or connected with these Terms or the Services is limited to the total amount paid by you under the relevant booking or contract.

6. Data Protection & Privacy

  • We collect and process personal data (licence information, contact details, lesson records) only as necessary to provide lessons, manage bookings, comply with legal & tax obligations, and communicate with you.
  • We handle personal data in accordance with applicable data-protection laws (e.g. UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018) and our Privacy Policy (which you should read alongside these Terms).
  • You have rights over your personal data (access, correction, erasure, objection, portability, etc.) — see our Privacy Policy for details.

7. Intellectual Property & Content Use

  • All content on the Site (text, images, design, layout) is owned by or licensed to the School. You may not reproduce, distribute, republish, or commercially exploit any content without our express permission.
  • Any feedback, suggestions or materials you submit to us via the Site become our property and may be used by us without restriction.

8. Third-Party Links

  • The Site may link to other websites. These links are for convenience only. We do not endorse or guarantee the content or practices of third-party sites, and we are not responsible for them.

9. Changes to Terms

  • We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be posted on the Site with a revised “Last updated” date. It is your responsibility to review them periodically. Continued use of the Site or lessons after such changes constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

  • These Terms and any disputes shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
